In these researches it has been received a lot of arguments, speaking about the benefits of computers. According to them, computers positively influence on the children's intellectual development, expand opportunities for learning. Using the computer and the Internet removes the distinction between the center and the provinces. Modern educational technology and access to information become available to each user, regardless of whether he lives in New York, Tokyo or a small town. It was created many special training programs - for preschoolers, pupils, students. It is noticed that many skills, such as counting, reading, map reading, children learn faster and often better by using the computer than by traditional teaching. But this is only one side.
On the other side there are a lot of data about the dangers awaiting children who join to the virtual world. Among them there are deterioration of communication between children and parents, insensitivity to emotions of other people, eye strain, obesity and much more. So why computers is a subject of so many fears especially for parents? In the fact in many publications computers are just our friends or just our enemies there is no third option. In my mind, this is due to the fact that a computer is a comparative new thing. About the same in the 40-50s people thought of television, setting theirs hopes on it or looking for trouble. Time passed. Television became a commonplace household item, and now everyone understands that that's not the point, but how we have learned ourselves and taught our children to the right attitude to it: select programs for viewing, time spend, etc.
The same is with computers. Many of the problems, which are described as computer-related, could be in fact described in connection with many other aspects of life. For example, reading as "sedentary activity" often may affects the eyes, contribute to obesity, etc.
